😍We were super happy to welcome Bonaly Primary School & their super motivated Head, Kirstie Miller, who 'teamed up' with us, with 34 young folk completing their very first parkrun, and another 10 existing runners running our course for the very first time!😍 And 75 runners returning to our event. ❤️”

Solidarity. Always hear plenty about anti-social behaviour from young folk & forget adults are guilty of anti-social behaviour on a daily basis. Speeding, engine idling, fireworks, pavement parking, smoking at the school gates, not being able to put rubbish in bins properly, fly tipping etc…

Good to see an amendment to this item at TEC tomorrow seeking clarity and further engagement with our ward cllrs and community on the Burnside path. Hopefully it passes.

A thank you to Rev Bob Henderson, Chaplain to the Forces, for a moving and thoughtful memorial service this morning. It was lovely to see such good attendance with everyone paying their respects. Ray Donnelly laid a wreath on behalf of LCC and looked impeccable doing so.

Now the mattress has gone we’ve raised a job to have the area cleaned and the actual rubbish that is blowing everywhere removed. Efficiency saving opportunities are abundant in how CEC manage the environment. Where’s Elon when you actually need him? Ref: 102000005105

Reported under Ref: 102000003770 to @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social for action (again) outside 80 Longstone St.

Some good news for local drivers. Carriageway resurfacing coming to Longstone Rd early next year.
- Eastbound from the junction of Longstone Terrace to opposite the junction of Parkhead Loan.
- Westbound from the junction of Longstone Park for approximately 70m.

- Residents incredulous that again the hedge completely blocking a Redhall Grove school pavement has still not been cut back by @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social . Shameful the amount of time and resource our community & @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social have spent chasing! Just get it cut already. 🤬🤬/5

- Pedestrian crossing being planned for Longstone Place/Duncans Gait school route 👍👍
- Residents also want speed control measures on Kingsknowe Rd North and Redhall Drive where cars frequently speed past schoolchildren and residents./4
November 7, 2025 at 1:42 PM
- Bollards/tactile paving/red coloured chips coming to vehicle entrance to school to highlight priority to school pupils. Incredibly @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social cannot paint a zebra crossing here because of @transportscotland.bsky.social policy. Totally Nuts! 👎/3

Good to see safety measures now appearing on the Scottish Road Works Commissioners website and also mentioned in the Transport & Environment Committee papers for next week.
- Build outs, raised table & resurfacing coming at the junction between Redhall Rd and Kingsknowe Road North 👍/2

💥School Street safety and getting the basics right!💥
A lot of this came up at @drscottarthurmp.bsky.social coffee morning in Slateford/Longstone Church this morning & relates to safety of our children/older residents movements in the community. /1

A few items of note in the ‘Road Safety Delivery Plan’ 6 monthly update to the Transport & Environment committee next week in relation to Longstone Primary.

4 jobs planned by Scottish Water for 24th and 25th Nov after we reported the collapsed toby, and others that were in poor repair on Redhall Crescent.
November 3, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Scottish Water will be fixing this issue 'Carriageway manhole loose and sunken' on 7/11/25 resulting in Kingsknowe Rd North being closed for a short time overnight.

Developer says, back door made more secure, motion activated light installed. Not willing to do anything further while awaiting planning decision.
November 3, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Still a lot of work to be done on this eyesore section in our community but at least CEC has cleared the weeds here after we asked as part of #OurEdinburgh. @rosssmckenzie.bsky.social chased developer about urban explorers accessing site.

The Hailes Quarry Junior Parkrun we launched back in early September going from strength to strength. Great turnout today. 👌

Redhall Road given a clean up after we requested it from @edinburghcouncil.bsky.social cleansing team as part of #ouredinburgh initiative in Sighthill/Gorgie ward in Oct/Nov. Allso asked for Redhall Dr to be attended to but no sign of that yet. Requests to cleanstreets@edinburgh.gov.uk
