I'm having the same cunundrum I have every holiday: do I play this videogame I just bought (Dispach) or do I work on this art I've been meaning to finish (Shadowgast)?
I will of course end up doing neither (and just watching Heated Rivalry and Critical Role C2 on repeat).

I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

I'm glad people are not crucifying the artists at larian over this and directing the ire at management. I have oceans of knowledge of how the threat of genai is treated in the animation industry by rank and file artists and we would never be "more or less ok"

the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now
