Cowardly response from
@harwindersandhu.bsky.social of @bcnewdemocrats.bsky.social who STILL refuse to ban sale of Israeli liquor in public liquor stores after 2+ years of genocide in Gaza

Passing the buck onto the feds instead of acting like the "moral compass" party they claim to be. Pathetic

Carney’s deal with Danielle Smith is the sellout of the century: scrapping climate legislation for a pipeline that will never be built.

We need powerlines, not pipelines. Our path is through climate leadership & building good jobs in the clean economy.

They're continuing to starve them on purpose
24 hours after the Israeli army announced it would reopen the Zikim crossing, it remains closed, with no trucks entering Gaza, Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud reports.

The shutdown leaves all of northern Gaza without a functioning entry point for humanitarian or commercial supplies...

So to the workers of @unifor.org Local 88: stay strong!

You've got your union behind you.

You've got a whole country behind you.

If they come for your machines....Fire the Boss!

As they say in Argentina:

Occupy. Resist. Produce.

For me personally, this story stirs deep emotion.

My first film, The Take (2004) was the story of workers in Argentina who were abandoned by their bosses, and took their factories back.

They took them over and ran them as worker cooperatives.

Not to mention the fact that the Government of Canada should have been this plant's biggest customer.

You want a nation-building project?

Convert the country's delivery fleet to electric, roll out the infrastructure, create union jobs and do it with Canadian steel.

First of all, the government of Canada should never have let this happen.

The US needs to sell cars in Canada - we're their biggest foreign market! $23 billion USD in sales here last year.

We need the auto pact back: you want to sell a vehicle here? Build a vehicle here.

Huge solidarity to @unifor.org local 88.

1,100 workers making EV delivery vans, laid off by GM.

Now they're saying, enough!

If GM comes for the machines, they'll occupy the plant.

Great overview of Poilievre's history of anti-worker and pro-billionaire votes by @queentiwa.bsky.social. Most stunning highlights for me were:

1 - he's literally never passed a bill

2 - he sold nearly a million affordable public housing units to private investors

Yes, whenever I talk to musicians they *always* say the worst aspect is the music bit. If only that didn't get in the way of their interactions with Spotify, labels, promoters and the universally beloved LiveNation/Ticketmaster.
Beautiful stuff: "It’s not really enjoyable to make music now… it takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of practice, you have to get really good at an instrument... I think the majority of people don’t enjoy the majority of time they spend making music."

Let's sidestep opinion and simply remind ourselves that Free Trade has obliterated our sovereignty and integrated us so far into the US that we no longer even have our own foreign policy.

And Chrétien is to thank for all of that.
I’m certain that some people will find the tone of this embarrassingly corny, and others will wish that it’s how more of our political leaders still spoke. But I’d be curious to see the splits on that. www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...

NDP's comms strategy of never ever saying what they will actually do differently is super effective

Publicly owned grocery stores? Maybe!

Higher corporate taxes? Who knows!

Breaking up the oligopoly? Flip a coin!

Punishing corporate execs? Your guess is as good as mine!
