Ladies and gentlemen, as you may have guessed, Trump did not say “MAGA has no room for antisemites.” That’s what the NYT says Trump said after Trump ACTUALLY said “I think we don’t like them.” Which is basically the opposite of a definitive “no room for” them. JFC they just can’t help themselves.

Please join me in praying for my city's only synagogue, Congregation Beth Israel, which was set on fire in the early morning hours, yesterday.
Nobody was hurt and a suspect has been caught and charged with arson, but not much is public. Beth Israel is part of JXN's long tradition of racial justice.

Oil companies aren’t going to sink tens of billions of dollars in capital expenditures that will take decades to pay off in order to revive Venezuela’s oil sector when they don’t know what the security situation will look like in 6 days, 6 months, or 6 years from now. They are not charities.
Trump wants U.S. oil companies to revive the Venezuelan oil industry,

but major production increases could require “tens of billions of dollars over multiple years,”

and involvement could be messy.

It won’t be worth it for many U.S.
oil companies.

I tend to agree with this, especially when you factor in Rubio’s Castro fixation.
I think 'enrichment of himself and his cronies' theory might be a superficial read. I think this is more of the same 'embattled GOP president desperately gets us embroiled in an interminable war for the coveted 'wartime president bump'.

The courts denied them war at home. They had to go somewhere.

I wish I lived in a country where I could trust the President’s public statements enough to know if he means it when he says he plans to run the country he just decapitated by kidnapping its president, or if he was just, y’know, spitballing. . .

FOLKS NEED TO REALIZE HOW HUGE THIS IS

For the first time in modern Texas history, Dems have candidates running in every state and federal race on the 2026 ballot.

That includes all congressional seats, every state House and state Senate race, plus statewide judicial and State Board of Education.

Iraq isn’t a great comparison. A much closer comparison is GHWB’s Panama invasion, which will almost certainly underpin the trumped-up (no pun) legal rationale the administration uses to justify an open violation of fundamental international and US laws.

Trump and Stephen Miller are actually failing in crucial ways. Deportations are lagging behind their goals, courts are mostly functioning, and their fascist, ethnonationalist cruelties have unleashed a countermobilization of unexpected scope and power.

Disastrous. Likud throwing off its hood and reminding us that they’re genocidal monsters just like the rest of their coalition. Will my fellow Jewish Americans sit and watch? Will our great institutions, built on faith that humanism could conquer bigotry, support this repudiation of modern Judaism?
