The biggest divide in America today is not between “right” and “left,” or between Republicans and Democrats.

It’s between democracy and oligarchy.

The old labels — “right” and “left” — prevent most people from noticing they’re getting the shaft.

Know the truth.

The lecturer in question is our colleague in children’s literature studies. She is a brilliant scholar and from all accounts a gifted teacher.

This ruling is infuriating… at the end of the day, it is our students’ education that will suffer.
Texas A&M University will not reinstate a lecturer who was fired after a video of her teaching about gender identity in a children’s literature class went viral, despite a faculty appeals panel unanimously concluding that her dismissal was not justified.

A vice chancellor upheld the firing of Melissa McCoul, seen in a viral video being confronted by a student on her gender identity teachings, saying the termination was done with “good cause.”

A federal judge has ruled the Trump regime broke the law when it deported over 200 Venezuelans to El Salvador's CECOT without due process in March.

Here's your reminder of what due process is — and why it's the cornerstone of our democracy.

It's hard to find the words for how disgusting this is. It completely silences girls' experiences of male violence. It fails to recognise the importance of education for prevention. It ignores the drivers of men's violence. And it's racist.

Oh and for good measure, which party cut police numbers?

- getting rid of frontline professional services staff in favour of apps

- removing individual offices where students can drop-in to see academic staff for tutorials

- shoving academics in no-entry-to-students workstations
