I’ve decided my goal in life is to help bring back curiosity, nuance, and joy.
Oh look, Pence is running for president now, too.

That’s three GOP candidates less than a year into the felon’s presidency.
Pence rebukes Trump for his comments on Khashoggi's murder:

"I would not have made that statement... I think it's very important that we never cast aside our deep commitment to freedom, to freedom of the press. Had I been given the opportunity... that meeting would have gone a little different."

This story (thread) is crazy
SCOOP — A former staffer for Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ), Natalie Green, 26, was charged today for falsely reporting she was attacked by 3 men who wrote "TRUMP WHORE" on her stomach bc of her job. It was staged by her + a friend.

Van Drew isn't named in the complaint but I've confirmed w/ his office.
Employee of a Federal Official Charged with Conspiracy to Falsely Report Violent Attack and Giving False Statements to Law Enforcement
A New Jersey woman was charged with conspiring and falsely reporting to law enforcement that she had been violently assaulted with a firearm due to her employment with a federal official.

Many years ago, I noticed a friend of mine doing this about everything from math concepts to cultural references, and I'd spent so many years trying to seem cool and in-the-know, and this was a legitimate revelation (which is embarrassing to admit, but ultimately so helpful)!
The actual secret to why I know stuff is that I ask a question any time I don’t understand literally anything. I don’t care how simple it is. Anybody who makes fun of you for asking a simple question likely doesn’t know the answer either

I’m going to keep saying this, but do discharge petitions for every unpopular thing Trump has done. Put out a tariffs one, call it the “Ronald Reagan Anti-Taxation via Tariffs act” and have the ghost of Mitch McConnell co-sponsor it in the Senate.
By forcing this vote, a bipartisan majority in the House is pushing back on Trump's assault on workers rights and his disastrous gutting of the federal workforce.

I'm proud to stand with @Golden.house.gov and the public servants who keep our country running.

This has been so shocking that I don’t know how to get over this enough to move on with my day.
The facts are complicated, but here’s a summary of what appears to have happened based on the filings and today’s hearing:
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

1) I have not practiced criminal law in a long time, and this is giving me genuine anxiety just reading it.

2) I cannot recommend subscribing to lawfare enough
This is almost unreal incompetence.

Here's how this area of inquiry was discussed in Monday's opinion.

In short, this is the afterthought, the ~it couldn't be this, could it?~ moment in the opinion: "If this procedure did not take place, then the Court is in uncharted legal territory ..."

Watch my statement below. Mr. President, release the transcript.

I present my review of "Unfettered," John Fetterman's memoir. In between petty grievances about doing his job, Fetterman asserts that he's feeling good.

Two days after "Unfettered" came out, Fetterman fell directly on his face from ventricular fibrillation, a life-threatening heart rhythm disorder.

Republicans: Kids who get cancer deserve to be punished for it.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

I posted this yesterday, and today I am learning that there was another successful discharge petition yesterday about basically undoing Trump’s illegal collective bargaining EO, and so I ask again, why aren’t we doing this all the time? @whipkclark.bsky.social @jimmcgovernma.bsky.social
Maybe someone can help me out with this, but why aren’t Dems using the discharge petitions as weapons to force positions on votes? Like Johnson is saying he won’t call a vote on the Senate ACA, show a bunch of House Rs refusing to sign on? @housedemocrats.bsky.social @ayannapressley.bsky.social

Texas' abortion ban has killed another woman.

Let's be very clear: Republicans are killing women. Democrats need to start calling them murderers loudly and often.

Look I’m not out here handing anything to Rs, but I was just watching @jonathankarl.bsky.social on @colbertlateshow.bsky.social talk about Pence on 1/6. Knowing how many cowards folded since then, it’s honestly astounding that Pence (of all people) was brave, patriotic, and took his oath seriously

This is fox so obviously there will be no pushback, but they say this stuff on other channels and just once I’d like someone to say, “do you actually think that? Or are you lying. It’s objectively untrue so you’re either lying or being lied to.”
Scott Turner shamelessly lies: "When we came into this administration, our fiscal house was not in order. Inflation was at an all time high."

I talk about this so often. Check my skeets for receipts. My friend and I literally talked about how the versions of us in the second Warren term universe are THRIVING.

If a candidate wanted my guaranteed vote, they would copy Warren’s entire platform
Somewhere in the multiverse there is a Warren Presidency, and I wish I could verse-jump to it. #everythingfeministeverywhereallatonce

I’d love for someone to write the piece about how the “return” to these kinds of practices is connected to a convoluted embrace of, but total psychic disconnection to, things poor people with no access to healthcare or medicine tried out of desperation but make it mainstream again.

Reeeeeeeaally curious to get @jaketapper.bsky.social’s take on this.

This is not a Tapper slam either. This is a story that has been extremely important to him.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Quick! Can someone ask ppl running for president (Ted Cruz, JD Vance) if they think licenses should be pulled for asking the president questions he doesn’t like?

Cruz will say of course not, he came out against Carr previously. Vance will hem and haw. Let’s lean into the lame duck stuff.
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

Once the House votes, the Senate should take it up ASAP.
There isn’t any justification to vote to keep the Epstein files hidden. The American people deserve answers.

“Our guest”
An ABC News reporter asked about U.S. intelligence findings that MBS ordered the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.

Trump interrupted, attacked the reporter, then defended MBS: "He knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest by asking something like that."
