The problem for those who make performative cruelty the centrepiece of their governing strategy is that you have to endlessly escalate he spectacle or your audience gets bored and starts to notice that for all your vicious sadism against the Other, you're not actually making THEIR lives any better.

Trump’s Big Ugly Betrayal Bill is a smash-and-grab robbery.

If it passes:

- 198,089 Oregonians will lose access to care.
- 62,000 Oregonians will lose some or all food assistance.
- 8,300 clean energy jobs in Oregon will be lost.

All to give tax breaks to billionaires.

These politicians don’t care if Americans die due to the lack of healthcare or food benefits they’re cutting. They know. They simply don’t care.

They have been funding and cheering on a genocide for nearly two years.

They are ok with working class Americans dying.

I would like for wealthy people excited for tax cuts to sign a piece of paper acknowledging that every dollar they get in tax breaks is going to be paid for by someone else…either someone not getting healthcare or SNAP or some future person paying higher taxes to pay the interest on our new debt.

As a fan from the start who has seen the ups and down and loved Grey’s Anatomy through it all, what the fuck was this season? Horrible writing, unearned emotional moments, absolute fuckery. Sad to see something I loved so much get worse season after season. Feels like it was written by AI.

The Vice President wants us to believe this administration is unable to negotiate with El Salvador.

The “art of the deal” man can’t even strike a deal with El Salvador? Is that what they’re saying?

No. That’s ridiculous.

DOGE was never about savings. It was always about surveillance.

Over the weekend, we released new details—and now whistleblowers are coming forward too. What’s becoming clearer by the day: DOGE isn’t a government efficiency program. It’s a data weapon aimed at the American people.

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

It's not just that "every accusation is a confession"; it's also that every accusation is a RATIONALIZATION. The lie that the other side is rigging elections rationalizes vote suppression. The lie that legitimate investigations are "weaponizing government" is the excuse to weaponize government.
