SB 212, which sought to establish "a ratings system for library materials available to young individuals based on appropriateness for different age groups," failed to pass in committee before the Oregon Legislature adjourned.

Our skilled librarians already select age-appropriate books.

This is a must read. It's great analysis and it's a great piece about what this does mean, and what it doesn't. Importantly, Kelly calls out that schools and teachers should not obey in advance by pulling LGBTQ+ books off the shelves.
