This Grade II* windmill in Thaxted, Essex, built in 1804 for John Webb, is a red brick tower mill that has been restored but lost a sail in 2010, closing it to visitors. Funding is now secured for essential repairs. We look forward to seeing it operational again!

when I do #genealogy research I tend to go off on every branch and just keep on going, since doing a Ancestry DNA Test many years ago, I've added what I call floating trees as well without actually connecting them to my main tree so I think its time for a tidy up #familytree

The amazing village of Crovie, built between the base of the cliffs forming the east side of Gamrie Bay on the north Aberdeenshire coast and the sea. The shelf it stands on is so narrow it only has room for a row of cottages and a path. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...

November is a stunning month for sure.

When John Styleman, a director of the East India Company, died in 1734 he left money for these 12 almshouses to be provided at Bexley for the local poor. They were built in 1755 after the death of his widow. They continue to be managed by a charity and are Grade II listed.
