Going to church on #stunday: The Basilica in Oudenbosch, the Netherlands. Built between 1842 and 1884, it's unusual, being a huge (for such a tiny village) 1/3rd size replica of Saint Paul's basilica in the vatican at a time when Neo Gothic was a rule more than a trend.

The town of Breda's most and vibrant inhabitant.
This building is the former courthouse and this niche once contained a statue of Lady Justitia. The niche stood empty after the court moved to another building. In 1996 the current, rather flamboyant, tenant moved in.

Definitively the Skatebike!
The iconic Leiden Centraal railway station. Built in 1996, it's perhaps not the prettiest, but certainly one of the most recognizable station buildings in Holland. It's (then) futuristic design symbolic for the optimistic mood in Western Europe in the 90's.

Mine was the filthy box known as the Euro Cinema in Hilversum. It was almost demolished when underneath the outer shell, an old Jugendstil garage building was discovered. It is now restored and a foodhall and brewery.

#CDFriday Or: How I made my acquaintance with the mighty Motorpsycho back in the day. I recall the cashier of the CD shop where I got Phanerothyme being equal parts surprised that they carried this and delighted that someone finally bought something descent. (It was a Free Record Shop in Amsterdam)
