This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.

Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.

The City of Philadelphia has introduced legislation to limited ICE in the city. The Federal Agents can not be masked, must have ID visible, must have arrested warrants signed by federal judges. They can't attack people. If they can't do this, they will be arrested.

“Minnesotans’ relentlessness offers a blueprint for how to react when ICE inevitably arrives to stir up trouble where there was none; how to look violence dead in the eye and say not in my town; how to provide aid laterally when you know those at the top won’t be passing any down.”

Veterans Affairs employees have not received any agencywide acknowledgment of the killing of Alex Pretti, who worked at the Minneapolis VA.

Officials also initially blocked hospital employees there from holding a memorial, though that was later reversed.

Not surprisingly, kids are not faring well in the for-profit family concentration camp. They are distressed, sleeping a lot, not getting enough to eat. Rep. Castro reports that a 2-month-old baby is in there
I just visited Liam and his father. I also met with countless more children and families who have done nothing wrong and should not be detained.

We *only* watch old school Sesame Street in our house, for this exact reason.

They deliberately cast it to have white cast members in the minority.

The Mr. Hooper actor did time on the McCarthy blacklist.

Most of the moral messaging in children's television programming when I was a kid was utterly uncontroversial at the time, and would be attacked as woke indoctrination today.

you’re already ahead. stay with it. minneapolis stripped these forces of legitimacy (a battle other cities won’t have to repeat). remember they are completely outmanned. their only real advantage is their organizational capacity. out-organize them & the illusion of control will collapse.
I can't describe how bad Minneapolis feels right now. My neighbors are pulling kids out of school. The public schools are offering remote learning until 2/12. We are having conversations in our alleys about how to protect ourselves. It feels like a military occupation with a blockade.
The US Department of Agriculture suspends all federal funding to Minnesota, effective immediately.
