Everyone ends up disabled eventually. Pre-disabled people don't like to think about it.
This idea that disabled people should be made to suffer stems from systemic ableism.

What’s worse, eugenics and fascism always go hand in hand.

Disabled people warned folks for years this was where the US was headed, but because our lives are undervalued, no one listened:
Why Do We Undervalue the Lives of Disabled People?
Ableism is why. Capitalism is why. A 'pull yourself up by your bootstraps' mentality is why. We can and must do better, and it starts with a commitment to stop debating a person's worth.

Healthcare is a basic human right.

The US is one of the only countries in the developed world not to guarantee healthcare to all.

The budget they just gave to ICE could easily cover universal healthcare.

They would rather fund a militia than provide food, medicine and vaccines.

There is no such thing as “saving” money by cutting social programs. Need still exists, hunger still exists, illness still exists. Cuts merely push the remedies for these many forms of suffering into crueler social relations and more chaotic social outcomes.

Governments – even fascist ones – are still ultimately just A Bunch of Guys Pushing Paper, and can be stymied accordingly.
Not everyone ones that the actual Gestapo were perceived as omniscient/omnipotent but in reality were not as big as you'd think, and relied on citizens ratting each other out, so yes it is our duty to gum up one of their primary sources of info, the rat-out lines

What, exactly, are we celebrating tomorrow?

Our cutting off healthcare to the needy to enrich the greedy?

Our new concentration camps?

Our dying economy?

Our ditching due process?

Our corruption?

Our broken legislature?

Our corrupt SCOTUS?

Our ridiculous buffoon president? #FourthOfJuly

Hot take: Young men “playing video games all day” deserve access to health insurance too. In a humane society everyone should have access to health care regardless of who they are or what they do. We should be expanding health insurance coverage, not kicking people off it.

1) it was always fascism and fascism was the right word to use
2) they are building concentration camps and concentration camps are the right words to use
3) they are banning books and book bans is a fine way to describe the myriad ways they are banning them

In 80 seconds, AOC has completely dismantled the #BigUglyBill.

Dems should turn this into a prime time campaign ad NOW.

“This Bill is a deal with the devil”💥

Make no mistake:

Alligator Alcatraz IS a concentration camp, and they absolutely ARE planning genocide and ‘ethnic cleansing.’

As a white person, i don’t know what I can do to help, but if all I have is my voice, I will make sure it’s heard.

The Nazis had incredibly effective propaganda campaigns aimed at dehumanizing anyone they wanted to target

This regime is doing the same thing

They’ve got social media influencers touring Alligator Alcatraz and crowing about how “great” it will be

They’re conditioning you to “just follow orders”

The reason I talk so much about extending grace to multi marginalized people especially is because they're often victimized. No victim is perfect. No human is perfect. So it's unreasonable to expect them to never have made a mistake. And to use that mistake to further harm them.

the amount of cruelty seems to be never ending. 😢

So much pain, anguish, cruelty, & harm are being intentionally inflicted onto our population.

Are these considered crimes against humanity? (Even folks not directly involved are suffering)

Class action lawsuits?

Medicaid provides care to 2.3 million children with disabilities.

If it gets cut, kids will die.

They’re willing to sacrifice the lives of millions of disabled children to ensure that the rich get richer.

Call, write & email your elected officials. Tell them to vote “No”
Disabled kids like mine rely on Medicaid to survive; this bill cuts Medicaid.

I don't know how else to say that medically complex disabled children will die as a result of this bill.
