NEW: last night, the US govt launched an assault on the ‘global censorship industrial complex’, aka European tech researchers/campaigners.

It’s a deeply chilling move & speaks as to why we need international solidarity more than ever.

Touch screen controls make reaction times “worse than being drunk or high”.

The implications for road harm and serious collisions are terrifying.

Should insurance companies increase premiums for touch screen dependent vehicles?
Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

Fun fact from a Christmas cracker - an octopus has not one , or two but three ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
Great news! This is probably the best possible light in which we could remember 2025, so Year of the Octopus is good I think, let’s focus on that
And don’t forget the octopus. In the UK, 2025 is being called “The Year of the Octopus” due to octopus numbers rocketing in our coastal waters. They are amazing creatures!

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen, was filled with cars until a 2 year pedestrianization pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business,” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.
