The election is just weeks away, yet Mr Dutton has not answered any of the key questions about how his nuclear energy pitch would work beyond naming the seven sites where the Coalition says it might eventually – mostly in the 2040s – build reactors. ☢️ www.theguardian.com/environment/...
The election could be called any day – but Peter Dutton still hasn’t explained how his nuclear proposal will work | Adam Morton
His claim that nuclear power would lead to cheaper bills in the near future isn’t supported by the modelling released to back it up. But the soundbite survives …

The 50% of people with the lowest incomes would take 3 years to pollute that much

In 2025, it is super important for media, educators, researchers, and advocates to link each of these distinct disaster events with climate, just in thoughtful ways.

A lot of approaches we used to use in environmental education are now outdated in the face of ongoing, layered crises. And, for many people, not talking about the link to climate, increases their anxiety (Verlie -https://lnkd.in/gKy9CipW).

The problem with 'waiting until the crisis is over' is that we are now in an ongoing crisis. While each disaster event is important to demarcate and focus most energies on reducing the catastrophic impacts immediately, there is no 'return to normal' after the fires are extinguished.
