We deeply mourn the ending of the regular publication of YES! Magazine. Yet the magazine's incredible legacy will live on: The Truthout Center for Grassroots Journalism, which is stewarding YES!’s digital archives, has launched a monthly YES! Newsletter.
Relentless kidnapping of our undocumented neighbors by ICE. Steps toward regime change in Venezuela. An indefinite government shutdown.

The latest newsletter from YES! asks: Amid these authoritarian times, at what risk will we resist?

Oh noooo, this is awful news! 💔

YES! Media's stories are exactly the kind we need more than ever right now.

It's just so painful that the very unjust systems they're working to dismantle have made it impossible for them to keep operating.

When I think about @yesmedia.bsky.social, I remember this piece they published in early 2020 about Reclaim the Block. It might’ve been the first not-local writing about our work. ❤️ www.yesmagazine.org/social-justi...

I published this piece for @theflytrapmedia.com in January. It is now May and YES! is sunsetting.

I will soon share more about the amazing team running this publication and how we can support them in their next chapters. But for now, I am in deep grief.

Indie media simply deserves better.
By the way, I now run YES! Media, an indie movement publication focused on radical solutions and—surprise, surprise—it, too, is often struggling to survive.

If you can support legacy publications that spew transphobia, then please consider donating to indie publications.
