Great to see this coverage of the env impacts of the fires currently burning in Victoria.

'VIC’s bushfires have torched almost as much land as the Black Saturday disaster, prompting fears for vulnerable animals, including a small distinct population of dingoes'.

One expert said he was not aware of another day in Victoria’s history in which so many different ecosystems – across so much of the state – had been so damaged.

Great work from The Age newspaper - a great connection between the image (effects of a devastating fire) & an article about how the Howard gov ignored expert advice about the likely impacts of climate change if they didn't act to reduce emissions.

AS 2 major fires continue to spread in VIC, much of the state is facing a Catastrophic Fire Danger Warning for tomorrow.

Yes, this is an Australian summer.

But this is also an example of what summers look like under the influence of climate change.

Since 2020, residents of Gippsland have been sharing info via the Friends of the Strzelecki Koala Grp about locations of koala hit by vehicles. This info has now been added to FoE's Strzelecki koala map.
