If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

every author in the class action, please file the claim.
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.

Queen of Fairies from A Midsummer Night's Dream (1595-1596) is a character lifted from traditional folklore. William Shakespeare borrowed the name 'Titania' from the mythological daughters of Titans in Ovid's Metamorphoses.

This gets at something I could only tangentially get at when it comes to medieval kingship: what was a successful or powerful king? Modern (i.e. 19th and 20th century) historians had very different ideas than contemporaries that often keyed in on things like creating bureaucracy/state capability.
happy monday! new FREE newsletter piece by me and @lollardfish.bsky.social as we talk about, well, the supposed "fall of rome" yet again. this time we revisit what's known as the "Pirenne Thesis" and how some think Islam fits in all this...

Y’all: @garethlpowell.bsky.social writes truly awesome stories with characters you can identify with, who have real flaws and hopes.
