Another writer fleeing Twitter. 30 years of videogame-adjacent scrawling and also, these days, weird short stories. Pics of cats, books and foxes likely.
Pinned
Time to collect my published short stories from 2025 into a pinned thread as if I know what I'm doing. Listed from longest to shortest and overlaid on a holiday snap, with word counts and links in the replies. Hope you enjoyed one or two of these throughout the year! Or, y'know, maybe now? No? 🪐📚
There was some proper club shite around in the late '90s, but if you can't appreciate the drop in Encore Une Fois then who even are you

A week in sunny Malta cancelled at the last minute to deal with water spurting out of a pipe in the kitchen and hours on the phone trying to file a home insurance claim. The vibes are atrocious. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY here's a picture of a holiday destination I hope other people are enjoying

Of all the easy things you can do to help the environment, conserve water for communities not corporations, not perpetuate scams, support the labor and rights of creators... *not* using generative AI is the fucking easiest. You absolutely deserve to be shamed for using it for image and text creation

Media coverage of Gaza has plummeted. So today on @thenation.com, we're doing something pretty special: we're only running pieces by people in and from Gaza.

We're calling it "A Day for Gaza." You can find links to all of the incredible pieces here. Please read! www.thenation.com/article/worl...
A Day for Gaza
Today, The Nation is turning over its website exclusively to stories from Gaza and its people. This is why.

Spent the last two months of 2025 stuck on one big novel, so Jan and Feb for me are all about nice slender things readable in a week. Here's Cleo with January's haul.

They're also going to "make Britain a crypto hub" apparently - you know, the thing we've all been asking for - along with more sobering stuff like this. Genuinely, what the fuck has happened to us that anyone could get off on this rhetoric and not feel deeply ill about who they've become.
