Cuddles is so gentle with me when I have a (fairly rare these days) meltdown. She just talks quietly, and tries different tactics to engage me. I tend to get stuck in a loop so I can't always talk back. But I can, say, give her my hand - and that opens a crack to talk me back out of myself.
