The Scottish Government has two tasks once independence is decided: seperating from the UK, and joining the EU. They would happen in parallel.

This was Glasgow in the 70s under labour and we had oil in the North Sea, nothing much changed in the preceding 30 years as all the oil revenues went South to pay for Londons finance district, cross rail, M25 and City Airport, we were left with the ten worst slum areas in the Uk, now we have none.

Any Scot watching and listening to Rachael Reeves on this morning’s BBC Laura K will have it confirmed that we are on our own as a nation . Her answer to the closure of the Grangemouth Refinery when pushed on replacement jobs was that we are investing in new well paid jobs in the North of England .

Ye see yon birkie, ca'd a lord
Wha struts, an' stares, an' a' that
Tho' hundreds worship at his word
He's but a coof for a' that
For a' that, an' a' that
His riband, star, an' a' that
The man o' independent mind

Labour is dismantling regulatory protections for consumers and the environment with far greater vigour than the last Government. If you attacked the Tories for doing it why are you biting your tongue now?

As we come up to Burns Night I have been thinking on this passage from his letter to Mrs Dunlop...

"Alas! have I often said to myself, what are all the boasted advantages which my country reaps from the Union, that can counterbalance the annihilation of her independence, and even her very name?"

does he wear a flat cap and carry a whippet in Lancashire? No?
Then why the cosplay tartan aristo gear when he visits somewhere in Scotland?

New UK pensions minister has called to scrap ‘rubbish’ triple lock on state pension.

Labour/Tories gunning for pensioners, condemning them to poverty.

The issue isn't Young v Old. It is justice, equity, humanity. Young will get old too & face premature death.

Fight for rights.
