You're missing the point. He isn't being xenophobic. Brexit was a xenophobic project rejected by Scots but imposed on us.

The majority of us rejected brexit but it was imposed on us. We wish to rejoin the EU, but this is impossible if we remain part of the UK now that Labour is a pro-brexit. Independence is the only route to allow us to rejoin nd to enjoy the benefits of working as an equal partner.
