If you know me from any of the previous platforms and spaces I've used this handle on (it's an oooold handle now), you know me.

Don't know me? Continue to be perplexed.
I've been getting clothes almost exclusively secondhand for several years now (including my wedding dress) and this month's Depop win is a dark red silk cheongsam with peonies, never worn as it was purchased as a tea ceremony backup outfit, and it fits me PERFECTLY that's my 🐴CNY outfit sorted

It’s easy to see how Twitter, Facebook, and so many other companies are contributing to how bad the world is getting, but Google’s villainy somehow keeps sliding under the radar.

I think I said this a while ago while arguing with people who said that bots can do law / medicine.

The difficulty in practice is not simply knowing the symptoms of a clinical presentation. It is understanding that you have to ask people questions to make sure you understand what is happening.

Former Washington Post journalists have launched a GoFundMe to help repatriate fired staff members who are effectively stranded in foreign countries.

One of the richest men in the world fired them from the paper and didn’t even pay to ensure they got home.

There is zero reason for a billionaire to own an adversarial news outlet in a kleptocracy. And so billionaires are gutting the media companies they own, reorienting them to better align with the regime, and spending money on bribes rather than journalists

This whole thing where billionaires snap up media properties so they can run them into the ground to make it harder for people to call them and their cronies to account is extremely obvious and very tiresome. It also limits our access to largr information about culture and the world, also by design.

I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity

Even after Trump is gone, the world will remember that he threatened to forcibly seize the territory of a peaceful democratic ally, and our institutions failed to immediately remove him. That makes US dangerously unreliable, not just one senile gangster.
His not being impeached by the end of the business day as a result of this threat is as much a problem as the threat itself. It’s not just Trump that the world has to worry about, it’s a GOP that supports him and Democrats who suck their thumbs and refuse to even discuss pushing to remove him

This seems like a maliciously put headline to make people feel a certain way.

Wikipedia is not partaking in generative AI. They are making AI companies and scrappers having to pay for training their modules off wikipedia texts. And having an AI (not that ai) tasked with updating dead links.

I mean, I would, if I were them. The US is 100% not to be trusted any more, nor will we be again for a long time, if ever. Even when we get rid of the current feculent toad in what remains of the White House, the US fascist infrastructure will remain and could resurface, like a case of Nazi shingles
Denmark confirms an expanded, more permanent Danish and NATO military presence in and around Greenland, beginning today. Deployments span land, sea, and air, including protection of critical infrastructure, fighter jets, and naval operations. Sweden has committed forces; other NATO allies may follow
