What a precious feeling it is, to be able to share one’s thoughts and the following emotional experience with another person for the first time.
It requires two minds to think one’s most disturbing thoughts…Since every stage of development involves facing emotional experience for which one feels unprepared, we are throughout our lives in need of other people with whom to think.

Friends and comrades made a crowdfunding page for my family.

It’s really hard to post this. I know that there are a lot of other important issues asking for money but things have gotten to the point where we need to open ourselves up to your support.

Thank you for your consideration.

If I’m missing any other clips please let me know.

One of the most remarkable things of the last 9 months is how many Americans seem to believe the President is all powerful and Congress has no say.
Actually Congress has been ineffective by choice. It has immense power if it had the courage to use it.

The Big Beautiful Bill gives Meta a $15 billion check.

That’s more than our federal government spends on child care in an entire year.

If we invested that much in child care & early childhood education, we’d create stronger futures for everyone, not just Mark Zuckerberg.

The act of “signing” for anything is purely performative at this point. Like I have no idea what I just scribbled on that pad, I don’t even know what you’re comparing it to anymore and I probably can’t even convincingly even forge my own signature but sure let’s keep on doing this forever I guess

It is particularly important to deal with negative transferences in the earliest sessions; otherwise, the patient may not come back. Clients often need a sense of permission to put words to what may seem “impolite” or “inappropriate” to say in other contexts.

This is about NHANES, a great openly available study, the same dynamic is seen with Mendelian Randomization. I am reminded of the line: “Strange game, the only way to win is not to play”… the game being rigged is “peer reviewed publications” and we don’t have a consensus on abandoning those….
Low-quality papers are surging by exploiting public data sets and AI

An apt note to continue the theme of the memory I just shared.
Parents who don't let us into their emotional world-- in ways other than expressing anger, that is-- implicitly teach us there's something "forbidden" or shameful about vulnerability. There's not-- but that programming often sticks w/ us, even into adulthood & recovery.
