Following the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents in Minnesota, "Commander at Large" Gregory Bovino was reassigned away from his leadership role in the operation.

Journalist Amanda Moore notes the violent culture and widespread fear he helped create won't be so easily removed.

I hadn’t even considered this. But why follow any laws, I guess
There are so very many things that are fucked up about how things are in Minnesota right now and it is hard to tell what the outside world knows about.

The street blockades may seem odd . . . if you haven't seen the way ICE & CBP drive.

THIS. They’re in the South Metro now, hitting Carver County & Minneapolis suburbs HARD.

NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

They’re detaining observers because ICE & CBP believe the real problem is people filming them, not that ICE & CBP is committing domestic terror.

Less footage = less national news coverage.
By the way, for those of you not in MN: Homan’s strategy was to withdraw some agents, so it felt like we were in the denouement of the crisis, and then escalate hard against observers. They’re being incredibly aggressive with observers now. National media may not want to check out just yet

I’m not arguing with no account defending AI. My grandmother lives in an area being environmentally compromised currently by an ai data center. I remember the color of the lake before they built it and the sludge I see in it when I go to see her. Shut the fuck up about “the benefits of AI” forever.

Hot take, but no one should be using ChatGPT and any AI products in general.
OpenAI president Greg Brockman and his wife donated $25 million to MAGA Inc in 2025.

There's a push to boycott ChatGPT, that tool is now added to StopICEToday.com
I gathered a few resources you can use & take action with to protect your communities from ICE:

Look at all these delightful little sketches!
Posted this on FB, now posting it here: I want to see fun art. Can everyone do me a favor? Draw something in 2 minutes and comment what you come up with. Good, bad, silly, whatever. I just want to see humans make art and not the pervasive AI slop. Your art will create 1000 times more joy.

The first time I saw a yard sign I assumed it was a clever joke about how nobody follows the laws anymore, but no— I got to actually vote for Calvinball.

I put all four acorns in the gold dish and yanked the red pull-rope before hollering “VOTE” in the voting zone. Easy peasy.

I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Lots of folks reminding everyone that you can unsubscribe from WaPo the last couple days, but you can also divest from Amazon to whatever degree you feel capable. Some options:

—cancel Prime
—choose to buy certain items from other retailers when you can
—stop shopping at Whole Foods.

A good thing you can do about this instead of dooming is Google “how to become a poll observer in [your town]”
Breaking:

The White House press secretary just said she "can't guarantee" that ICE won't be around polling locations in November.

Retweeting this again, because I cannot overemphasize HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS.

And how many MORE people signed up after each murder.

I can't remember who around here said that they had learned something new in 2026, which was that it turns out there is something they are willing to die for.

That.
I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

We really really shouldn’t have billionaires
New analysis shows that Jeff Bezos could absorb the Washington Post's annual losses for 5 years with the amount he makes in a single week.

His net worth has increased by $224 billion since buying the paper.
