LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Man, fuck these assholes! Fuck their self-righteous, self-important narrow definition of who counts as a person!

The world is full of good people who care for each other! Even for strangers! We work together and that's why we'll win!

We're going to kick their asses even if they keep cheating!

Do I draw a sexy Aerith for Valentine's Day instead of my usual Locke and Celes?

("Usual" but I haven't really done much art in a few years)
Aerith Week starts tomorrow! 💐

Let us celebrate our favorite Cetra and Flower Girl for yet another year! 🩷

There's some really bad shit happening and it really fucking sucks! I do believe things will get better eventually because a lot of people are working very hard on helping things get better, but boy does it suck along the way

My hair isn't *good* but it is *less bad* and sometimes that's the best option we have available to us, and *some* improvement is better than *no* improvement

I was super bummed about all my hair continuing to fall out so I cut it super short again and I feel less miserable about it. If you can't have the situation you actually want (my hair back, in this case), there's often an acceptable alternative that is possible. Good reminder.

So, so, so true. That plus the pretty dress scene plus all the hilarious asides and character moments and just, yeah, this movie was made for 13-year-old girls and I LOVED it
If you want to know what 13 yo girls love… it’s the part in Ever After where she can take anything she “can carry”.

The fucking Cato Institute. Bunch of libertarian shitheads so it's not like they could be plausibly accused of having a left-leaning bias. Not that the white nationalists making political decisions right now care about plausibility, but maybe some folks you know do.
The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023.

The Cato study provides the first-ever 30-year analysis of the fiscal effects of immigration on government budgets.

I wonder if I move and talk like a person who's used to YouTube or Twitch when I'm recorded on video, because when I see videos of people who are used to being on TikTok, there is a specific way they move their hands and a cadence to their speaking that is consistent and immediately recognizable

me, in a dream, trying to describe a video game on the phone: it's the one with all the characters. ...yes, Kirby's in it, but he's not important—

(holds phone away from ear)

me: I'm sorry. of course Kirby is important.

We have enough evidence for UBI in general that this policy should be a given. But the difference is, to understand UBI works is to believe that people are fundamentally good. And a big chunk of society is built around the belief, *must maintain the belief* that people are fundamentally bad.

A million pilot programs show the same thing: when people are given enough money to afford housing, homelessness ends.

Other supports matter, but housing comes first. Not policing. Not moralizing. Homes.

Last night's Deltarune Chapter 3 VOD is now up on YouTube and timestamped for your convenience! In which Kris makes choices, we learn more about the Dark World's origins, and Susie plays multiplayer games exactly like I do. I had a lot of fun with this one.
