Allowing it is not the same as actively endorsing, promoting, pushing it everywhere, all the time.

Gambling is highly addictive. It destroys lives. Keep it legal, keep it above ground, but for the love of God stop normalizing—nay, glorifying—it.

Contrary to what Big A.I. apparently believes, you can't reach the moon by climbing successively taller trees.

99% of "breakthroughs" tend to be hyperbolic bids for more grant money. This, however, looks like it might be the real thing. Few degenerative diseases are as vicious as ALS. If science can beat that, it can beat anything.

There is no cure for #LongCOVID or #MECFS… Yet.
But this gives me hope.
In world first, Israeli scientists use RNA-based gene therapy to stop ALS deterioration
By adding a microRNA molecule to ALS models, Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University and Weizmann Institute researchers say the damaged nerve cells 'even regenerated'

Because people are living in fear.
40 years later… And the thing is, we already have mountains of data NOW that show what COVID does to brains. Why can’t we acknowledge it? Why can’t we face it? Why can’t we say it?
My dad trained as a neurosurgeon in the late ‘50s and they were still studying the long term neurological effects of the Spanish flu.

Day 1162—I hope not. I initially thought not. But now I'm not so sure.

I say again: Day 1162. That's 18592 waking hours of utter incapacitation. Lifelessness.

All because of one mild COVID infection.

My Long COVID looks an awful lot like ME/CFS, which has been around for decades. And has no cure.

SARS-CoV-2 transmission happens in the blink of an eye.

Public health has failed us, but that is no excuse for us to fail each other. Take a minute to put on a respirator mask. This seemingly small action has a big impact that could save a life.

And the life you save may be your own.

Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

There’s a cult of ignorance in the US and always has been.

The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
