We’re thrilled to welcome Cllr Tina Valcarcel to the Liberal Democrat group! 🧡

After nearly 20 years as a Labour councillor, Tina says Labour has moved away from her values — and she’s found her home with the Lib Dems.

Welcome, Tina! ✨

Reform reveal their new branding….

It’s clear: Nigel Farage’s Reform is just the same old Conservatives that ruined the country in the first place.

Writing in the Scotsman on the cloak-and-custard-pie mess of Robert Jenrick's expulsion and defection to Reform.

Months ago I described the Tories as a “clown car”. I now fear that this comparison was unfair to the noble profession of grease-painted artistes.

With clear evidence of harm to children and vulnerable communities, especially in areas like Streatham, the council should stand by its ‘No Casino’ resolution and put public health before commercial interests.”

Cllr Donna Harris, leader of Lambeth’s Liberal Democrats, told Brixton Buzz:

The cancellation, ahead of its scheduled slot on Friday 16 January, has become a further catalyst for public backlash and opposition outrage, with many hoping to take the council to task over the clause’s removal.

Lambeth’s Licensing Committee meeting was again cancelled at the eleventh hour, ahead of a scheduled debate on the borough’s new Gambling Policy, with the council still refusing to explain how its long-standing “No Casino” clause vanished from the draft without discussion, authorship, or explanation

This has to be the year that we see serious action on the cost of living crisis that is hitting us all.

It's not just the big costs but those that are sacrificed as "nice to haves" that we need to make more affordable to improve daily life.

It is even more disappointing that the Labour run council decided to cancel the Country Show having wasted this £200,000

So why not sign our petition to urge the council to reconsider their cancellation!

South East Water have done the extraordinary by making Thames Water look good.

The Liberal Democrats have long called for a better regulator to fix our broken water industry.

We are also calling for water companies such as Thames Water to be made a public benefit company.

Reform is rapidly becoming a sequel to the Conservatives with an even worse cast and terrible plot. Anyone thinking of voting for them should remember how the Tories broke Britain, the damage to our NHS, our schools, the sewage in our rivers and Liz Truss’s disastrous budget.
