This report is a step forward, but it falls short. Deaf and Disabled People's organisations were clear throughout our investigation: London needs a Disability Equality Champion. Disappointed it was left out of the recommendations, which is why I led on this minority report.

Peckham Rye is the busiest station in the UK without step-free access and so many other stations on the Windrush Line are inaccessible. We need to look seriously into the feasibility of going step-free. I’ve written to the Deputy Mayor for Transport calling for urgent action.⬇️

Disabled Londoners sounded the alarm before Grenfell, but were ignored. We can't make that mistake again. I'm glad the London Assembly listened to concerns from @inclusionlondon.bsky.social and backed our motion for the Mayor to work with government to strengthen regulations for PEEPS.
