Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Mid Sussex she/her
With East Grinstead in Mid Sussex District still without water, it's beyond time for South East Water to change its leadership.

I called for the CEO to resign in December, and we Lib Dems reiterated the need for change again at PMQs today.
South East Water has failed again, leaving parts of Kent & Sussex without water since Saturday.

Bosses are accused of misleading Parliament over their failures.

Will the Government strip their licence?

🗳️ We want our county council elections to go ahead in May🗳️

That’s why yesterday I went to West Sussex County Hall in Chichester to demand that the Conservative administration do not accept Labour’s invitation to postpone local elections for a second year in a row.
January 13, 2026 at 7:00 AM
Today I challenged the Water Minister to look at a duty to cooperate for neighbouring water authorities, following outages over the weekend.

South East Water's response to the situation has been woeful.

Please visit my Facebook page for fuller updates on the situation.

My Monday Mail returns for 2026.

It feels to me like everything is happening everywhere all at once - both in world affairs and for the South East's fresh water supply.

Last night I presented my petition in the House of Commons calling on the government to think again and turn down any request from West Sussex County Council to delay elections in May.

@ITVMeridian ran the story on Good Morning Meridian/Britain this morning.

Thank you to everyone who signed my petition calling for elections to West Sussex County Council to go ahead in May.

I am presenting it in Parliament this evening.

The government cannot let elections be postponed. It would make a mockery of our democracy.

It is clear to me that without urgent steps to get social care properly supported, hospitals and family carers are going to continue to face intolerable strain. Read more in my interview with Care Home Professional.

Do you not get mobile signal where you live?

This is a big problem for many people across Mid Sussex and I want to share your experiences in a debate in Parliament in January about mobile connectivity in rural areas.

The availability of respite care for unpaid carers is being cut back, with nearly a million requests for respite care being denied. The government needs to do better than this. Me quoted in the Express ⬇️

It looks likely that next year's local elections will be cancelled in an anti-democratic stitch up between a failing Labour government and a Tory county council that is scared of what an election could mean for them.

🚜 Has Christmas come early for Mid Sussex farmers?

Just before Christmas, the government has finally listened, and scaled back plans to hike inheritance tax on farms. A relief for some, but the damage is done. Lib Dems will keep fighting to scrap this unfair tax in full.

Yesterday, Labour asked the Conservatives on West Sussex County Council whether they want another (sixth) year in charge.

Today, the Conservatives said yes.

Elections shouldn't be cancelled at the whim of the people up for re-election.
