Helping make TV happen. Everything I say is my fault and my fault alone.

“Network” premieres today in ‘76

“.. we thought we were making a satire,” said Lumet. “But the extraordinary and frightening thing is how quickly it stopped being satire .. When the truth becomes entertainment, when rage becomes a commodity, the culture begins to eat itself.”

I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

In contrast, I just finished this week's Pluribus, which would be entirely unwatchable unless you were looking at the screen most of the time.

And if you were watching, you would have been rewarded with the best physical comedy every performed by a drone.
Want to also add I too found the dialogue to be absolutely insufferable this season. Like an increasing number of recent streaming shows, it feels written for an audience only half paying attention & ultimately punishes those who are following each stilted sentence. Please, make it stop, I beg you 📺
Sorry kids, but #StrangerThings5 is off to a rough beginning of the end. The final season of the hit Netflix series has the longest episodes, but also the most painfully clunky dialogue. It only makes one nostalgic for its start nearly a decade ago 📺

I have a short tale to tell about Google Gemini. I stopped bothering with it or Google Assistant on my phone because my phone is a Galaxy Flip and for some reason, access to Gemini was blocked on the outer screen. Tonight I accidentally triggered the Assistant button and, oh, it worked this time!

I periodically go back and remind myself that the Theme for Quantumania (and its title sequence) deserved to be in a better movie than Quantumania. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aOe2...

This is, uh, where I’m starting to land. Because “16-year-old records a song called Jailbait” implies a lot of things leading up to said recording and regrettably explains a lot of choices that follow it.
I’m becoming a @annadistracted.bsky.social convert in that this sounds like it the whole story here is going to be sadder and more exploitative than any of us would have guessed

We, collectively, no longer deserve good things anymore and, MAN, is the universe delivering.
Someone found an mp3 of the creepy "Jailbait" song Olivia Nuzzi released when she was 16 🫣

I'd like to offer my congratulations to both QAnon and GamerGate on being right about powerful, connected pedophiles and about ethics in journalism, respectively, while also being profoundly too stupid to actually find and identify the real occurrences of these issues.

My apologies to the writers of The Morning Show. I was unfamiliar with your game.

WOW, okay then. Didn't expect this news! forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/thread...

Development of the Cities Skylines franchise is moving away from Colossal Order to Iceflake Studios... CO will stick around to release their long-delayed bike patch and a beta version of the asset editor, but that's it.

I feel like part of it is a failure in execution. You go from having a big revelation, which they also did at the end of Act 1, but then you have none of the tight storytelling and progression. Just challenges and level up opportunities on an open map or the final boss. No trying to sell the twist.
Still think about how I went from loving to genuinely hating the story of CLAIR OBSCUR. I've never had that experience: The big revelation at the end of the second act genuinely felt like I'd been robbed of the amazing story and journey up until then. I will never play it again.

I keep struggling with how The Morning Show seems to portray Alex Levy as Girlboss for having slept with her (married) co-host and later portraying her sleeping with an interview subject who then tries to take over her network as but a small mistake she recovers from.

Then reality catches up.
i’d be more comfortable with the olivia nuzzi coverage if every story was headlined something like “seduced by a guy who eats roadkill: the story of an extremely stupid lady”

I’m not saying that snooping through Epstein’s Amazon receipts is or isn’t a worthwhile story. What I will say is why is this tweet so softball when THIS IS THE HEADLINE.

I don't get. No one asked why M wasn't remarking on the fact Bond changed faces and also was doing his first 00 mission all over again in Casino Royale. These are stupid questions to ask.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I've been generally surprised how elastic American Delusion has been this last year. But I'm wondering if a No-Pay-No-SNAP-No-Planes Combo will finally break that elastic.
