Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

This is a thought I’ve had about the right’s various efforts to push women out of the workforce—with abortion bans, childcare cuts, tradwife agitprop, etc. How much of it is because they think AI will let them drastically reduce the workforce, and they want an ideological rationale for doing so?
how much of the DOGE-driven destruction of the nation’s research and development capacity is because these people are AI cultists who believe that we’re on the verge of creating a sentient general intelligence?

As a former journalist I think it's important to tell you that we are trained NOT to go off record unless it's absolutely necessary. There are a bunch of different styles of what people think of as off-record and each one comes with varying levels of work that must be done to verify what was said.
