This is insane. Of course, US citizens do not have immigration documents to produce. So what he’s really saying is carry your papers, but if you are a citizen you must submit to a facial recognition scan if you don’t want to be arrested. Dystopia.
Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

Brown University says there's an active shooter on campus. Emergency scanner says multiple victims, but unclear how many.

Video footage viewed by the Brown Daily Herald "depicted several individuals lying on the ground near the Sciences Library appearing to be assisted by police."
Active shooter on campus, Department of Public Safety reports
The alert and call was sent to students immediately by DPS following the incident, urging students to hide, run or evacuate until further notice.

A lot of strange and complicated stuff can go into a person, as this Sun-Times/WBEZ/Chicago Public Media profile of Greg Bovino, the “star” of the immigrant detentions in Chicago, shows. I did not know about his immigrant family background or childhood with a dad who caused a drunken-driving death.
U.S. Border Patrol commander-at-large Gregory Bovino is at the center of President Donald Trump's deportation show. Our reporters traveled across the country to trace his roots.

Some ideas for improving road safety that can be implemented in US cities without modifying infrastructure:

• No cars moving through the intersection when pedestrians have a "walk" signal.

• No turn on red.

• 20 mph speed limit.

• Leading pedestrian interval for cyclists.

Others?

Was Chicago's head tax a job killer?

Our analysis, reviewed by four economic and labor experts, found a lack of evidence that Chicago’s previous head tax, or its repeal, is to blame for job loss or growth in Chicago.

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

The 25th anniversary of Bush v Gore is today. The conspiracy mongering & corruption of the GOP has been brewing for a long time.

Roberts, Barrett and Kavanaugh were all on Bush's legal team, where they pushed unfounded legal theories. SC justices were already enmeshed in voter fraud myths.

It’s rare that there are real, tangible hinge points in history, but once in a while you can point to something and say “that’s it, that’s the moment things accelerated”.
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

NEW: The Trump-Vance White House has falsely accused an ally of Pope Leo — Sr. Norma Pimentel — of illegal activity tied to migrant aid, and cut off all federal funding to Catholic Charities in Texas.

Church leaders say it’s a targeted, political reprisal against Pope Leo and the Catholic Church.

My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
It must be wild to get to abuse the public then pay for it with the public's money
