The strategy against Europe is always "divide and conquer."

Whether it's Russian disinformation or Big Tech lobbying, the goal is to break our regulatory power.

They hate the EU because it works.

If we stay united, they lose.

If we fracture, they own us

This is such a warning sign. The American population should rise up in every manner possible, including nation-wide strikes, if Trump will seriously try to obstruct the mid-term voting. It's the last chance to save democracy and civilisation. Everything depends on it - and not just in the US.
🚨BREAKING: President Donald Trump urged Republicans to seize control of elections and place voting under national authority Monday — one of his most explicit signals yet that he plans to interfere with the workings of democracy. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
Trump: ‘We should take over the voting’
Trump, as usual, offered no evidence for any of his claims.

More authoritarianism and intimidation. This is not about 2020. That’s the smokescreen. This is about the midterms and 2028. There will be a lot more of this in the coming months.

A continent divided into many states with different languages, histories & religions - overcoming their differences and uniting into one federation.

A pipe dream for Europe? No. It's the modern reality of India. And it shows it can be done.

My piece on 🇪🇺🇮🇳:
Europe should draw inspiration from the Indian union
The subcontinent was also once split into small states speaking different languages, but the Indian union has brought great success. As the EU and India strike a trade deal, there are wider lessons.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.
Noem's lies are mind blowing: "This individual attacked those officers, had a weapon on him and multiple, dozens of rounds of ammunition, wishing to inflict harm on these officers, coming, brandishing like that.

The shamelessness is the point. We know she's lying. She knows she's lying. If she were trying to convince the public, that would be admitting that public opinion matters.

This is a performance of dominance.

This is "truth is what we say it is."

This is "you'll believe what we tell you."
Noem lies shamelessly: "An individual approached order Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic gun. The officers attempted to disarm this individual, but the armed suspect reacted violently. This looks like a situation where an individual arrived to inflict maximum damage and kill law enforcement"

In my view, repression at home and thuggery abroad - most recently Greenland - are two sides of the same coin. Both reflect the worldview of people who think violence, power, threat and coercion are all that's required to push your agenda through & secure your interests.

In perhaps the best political speech I've seen in my lifetime, Mark Carney compared the way Europeans are making excuses for Trump with the mental prisons of people living under Soviet domination.
