The dumb He-Man movie hype made me remember I made this a million years ago, like in LiveJournal days...
DVD cover for Everybody Loves Raymond, but I've photoshopped it to say Ram Man instead of Raymond. Ram Man is a dumb-looking He-Man action figure with a wide metal helmet and an axe, and he's replacing Ray Romano in the middle of the picture. The other actors from the show are posing happily at his left and right side, doing something resembling jazz hands. I don't know who they are, I've never seen the show. The old guy was the monster in Young Frankenstein; I forget his name.

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI
recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best. It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Last semester, I had the opportunity to take a class on costume design in fantasy, sci-fi, and supernatural film and television. And for my final project, I chose to analyze the costumes in Jem and The Holograms! ✨

For example, in this specific instance a trans woman was treated as a woman for the purpose of facilitating an arrest for breaching public decency laws, and then treated as a man to maximise the potential for harm to come to her while in jail.

Hope this isn't a controversial take but there's no such thing as "unused" visual development! That's part of why it's called that! Individual designs may not make it to the final cut but they're still part of the overall creative process that leads to that end product!
