I remember when I was a kid hearing someone reference a person having a "hair-lip" and wondering why they seemed to think having a mustache was so unattractive. It wasn't until much later in life that I found out what "hare-lip" refers to.

Tbh the main difference in content between Bluesky and Twitter is that I see more Nazi shit here because people love posting screenshots of what Nazis are saying on Twitter. I've got my Twitter set up just right to avoid that shit, so I rarely ever see it over there.

I drove through the woods to go find this place yesterday. An airplane on the side of a mountain that has been turned into a house. It's way the hell out there in the middle of nowhere. I didn't want to get out and go wandering around their property, but at least now I know how to get there.

Oftentimes it's not even the blatantly terrible things that people do to each other that stick in my mind, it's the way everyone else has to try to cope, and the notion of preschoolers singing a goodbye song every time someone's family member is deported is just incredibly bleak
Today my daughter's preschool is holding a farewell assembly for one of her classmates whose mother has no choice but to self deport. The school is hoping it will be joyful in tone, so we might make this less upsetting for this 3 year old.
There's just no words for the uselessness of this cruelty.
