Kittywampus on the Twit app. Came here for feminism & cats. Sticking around for the fight for democracy & the rule of law. Anti-Dark Enlightenment.

Would rather be dancing to Phish.

I have two kitties. They produce plenty o’ poop every day in roughly 5 minutes. Far more efficient than shitting all over Twitter.

They sleep 16+ hours per day and spend at least 4 vying for space on my lap.

Catturd? I’m so sorry to say you are doing it wrong.

Get offline and touch litter.

Victims can consent to revealing otherwise private/redacted material. If they have that material in their personal possession, they can do it directly. This happened in a sexual harassment case on my campus where the perp would have escaped except that the victims released the investigation report.
Redaction immediately following "Trump is gross" is intriguing. Remember that the principal justification for redactions is protecting the victims. Here it would be important to pursue the question of why this was redacted and whether the victim will consent to revealing what lies beneath.

I love this so much, I’m now ruminating about my own weird pedantry and/or erudition
Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

They have nothing to charge them with because these are fishermen, and it’s not illegal to survive an unprovoked murder attempt by a foreign military.
Those men are super dangerous drug smuggling terrorists, which is why . . . we are letting them go.

Trump and Vought are now breaking both sides of spending law. They’re illegally not spending where the law requires them to spend, and they’re illegally spending where they don’t have the money to spend.

What we have is an appropriations king.

Spending “deals” are meaningless under that setup.

Neurologically speaking, there's no such thing as 'useless' subjects or 'rip-off' degrees

Insisting we should only teach useful subjects is like saying science should only do research that gives positive results

If you honestly believe that's how anything works, *your* education was the wasted one

Almost certainly AI. But it’s also true that cats will try to teach their hapless humans to hunt.

My dear kitties had a mouse cornered earlier this week but it slipped away.

Just in case, I won’t leave any pots unattended on my stove until the mouse resurfaces.

I love this beyond all rational measures.

I played in the Stanford Band in college, before Silicon Valley became a nest of right-wing vipers.

I would so love to bring this energy to No Kings this weekend, except I lack a band. Also, my horn-playing chops are mincemeat for lack of practice.

It’s increasingly clear to me that the reason the six reactionaries on SCOTUS won’t commit to definitively resolving issues on the shadow docket is that they reserve the prerogative to apply diametrically different standards should a Democratic president be elected in the future.
Amy Coney Barrett defends heavy use of the shadow docket: "If we wrote a long opinion, it might give the impression that we have finally resolved the issue, and in none of these cases have we finally resolved the issue."

I endorse this. I urge all protesters to wear silly costumes to ramp up the absurdity to 11.
Protesters getting cuffed should insist on calling the arresting officers “Daddy” just to make them feel weird as hell about the whole thing.

If Greg Abbott and his cronies have their way, the class will be brought back in a future semester, now titled Cultivating Oppression and Injustice.
Yesterday I was told that the class I’m scheduled to teach this month, Confronting Oppression & Injustice, is no longer part of our curriculum. This is a required class yet there was no discussion, no faculty vote, just an email saying the class no longer exists. This is what it’s like in Texas now.
