The big problem with the “serious people should be left to do serious politics” thing is that the serious people doing serious politics have repeatedly fucked up for the past 40 years
And today it's the turn of The Times to try and patronise us all.

Every single day the right wing establishment tries to close ranks.

And every day we are growing.

So this happened an hour ago. I don’t think I’ve seen red this deep in a long time. You could see it quite clearly with the naked eye. #aurora

A few more photos from tonight’s incredible #aurora. I’m fascinated by the amount of red light tonight. This is generated by oxygen molecules being excited by light plasma at least 600 km above the Earth. The green is also oxygen molecules, but much lower (100-250km). Definitely a great night.

I really need to get to bed, but I just poked my head out the back door again. This is the view from my deck. All of this is looking south. When the geomagnetic storms are like this, the oval overshoots me and stretches into the US, which is why so many are seeing it tonight. #aurora

The CURRENT sitting MP for Clacton earns £511,000 as a presenter for GB News and took £281,000 as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.

So maybe sit this one out, you rancid herring.

Fireworks are pretty heavy going this year. Especially with Millie. This time last year she was out abandoned on the streets having to endure the noise and smoke of the night not knowing what was happening.

She is at least safe and warm this year, but she is not having a good time tonight. 😔

Next time you're complaining about rail staff striking, consider this weekend. We MUST properly fund the safe operation of what is now partially and will soon become fully a key public service, not a cash cow to line pockets. There should be no lone working by Train Managers, Guards and Conductors.

Seen it before, there's one partly remaining that I think is being restored at Bridlington (lovely little station) too, but no idea the tiles were originally from Jackfield! #Shropshire
At Beverley railway station, a remarkable survivor from the golden age of the North Eastern Railway still greets travellers, a tiled map set into the wall beside the train shed exit. Made between 1900 and 1910 by Craven Dunnill & Co. of Jackfield in Shropshire, it is

Quite true. Swift and decisive action by the Driver, Signaller, staff at York ROC and on board. The media and politicians will repeatedly divide and demean, but the daily safe operation of the industry is a team effort, and the railway is a complex machine I am proud to say I'm a (tiny) part of. 💙
Next time someone tells you that train drivers "just push buttons" show them this from the BBC

@fanzinefc.bsky.social really enjoyed browsing through your posts, fanzines are@ sadly missed. When I was young, I was dragged repeatedly to Wolves matches by my Uncle and Nan, but the highlight was a Bovril and a flick through my Uncle's copy of A Load of Bull on the way home. You seen that one?

Today’s #FanzineoftheDay is Shrewsbury’s A Large Scotch. It was going to be issue 13 from May 1992 but that saw our heroes in a terrible dudgeon about an impending relegation, so I thought I’d skip to issue 14 to see if they cheered up the next season...

Oh well, back to what I know and enjoy - for now at least - need a fresh save though, I'm done with my moneybags elite sides - they're fun but I'm like a fish out of water away from lower league struggles!
