So this isn't just specific to Riot or 2XKO, but I thought about this for awhile and I feel I generally don't enjoy many PvP games lately because of their design intent. It often feels like a game just can't be a game...and that it HAS to be an eSport first and game second.

2XKO is a free to play, simple execution one button special move, 2v2 team game with 4 player support, the best netcode engineers the FGC has to offer, lobbies intended to smooth things out as much as possible, licensed League of Legends game, and it did normal FG numbers.

People keep saying stupid things like "The reason fighting games don't to well is the price. If the execution wasn't a barrier, FG's would be bigger. People hate FG's because you don't have a teammate to blame. No one cares about these new IP's. The netcode and online experience holds FG's back."

I'm not saying "we should all go back to IRC!" or anything, but just that having things be run by many small unconnected operators made it inherently a lot harder for governments to control.
