I know several people who were in the orbit that he wanted to belong to.
He was essentially a "people collector." In the case of the scientists, and politicians, he had money and obvious "fringe benefits". None of them mistook him for a genius, at least not the actual smart people.

Media standards:

1) No Democratic scandal on par with Trump-Epstein, so it’d be biased and unfair to five it much attention.

2) Trump wouldn’t be shamed into resigning and his cult of personality wouldn’t abandon him, so Trump-Epstein wasn’t worth pursuing.

Way too many think that’s journalism.

Maybe it’s just the Humanities professor in me, but let it be noted that events of today (ahem) have demonstrated the value of being able to assess a large volume of qualitative data and do careful textual analysis with deep attention to context.

Earnest post: there is increasingly direct evidence that Trump participated in child sex trafficking or at least knew about it.

He should resign, be impeached and removed from office, and prosecuted.

Even if you don’t think that WILL happen it’s important to say publicly that it SHOULD happen.

Another thing this email trove has convinced me of is that NYT has been actively and consciously helping Trump since 2015. It wasn't just casual sexism, double standards, and political reporting Kayfabe. They were doing catch and kill

Imagine being such a horrible human being that one of the most horrible human beings on Earth, Jeffrey Epstein, thought you were the worst person he's ever met.

That's Donald Trump: MAGA's King and Daddy.

All jokes aside, I love that three of the most powerful Republicans in the country dragged a single member of Congress into the Situation Room, spent the day turning on the juice but couldn't shake anything loose. Love to see them come away from that empty handed.
the key error was letting Boebert sit in those leather chairs they've got in the situation room- in theater seating there's no way she'll release her grip

We really need to start asking who paid off his debts again
Jeffrey Epstein advised Steve Bannon that the lawyers representing Brett Kavanaugh in his confirmation hearing should accuse Christine Blasey Ford of being on medications that cause false memories or memory loss.

My hunch: New York Times forced a resignation, payed him out, and allowed it to be marked as cause in exchange for waiving the right to sue. Thus, you get the "terminated for cause" but not the public blast you'd expect except from the NY Post.
Landon Thomas’s behavior seems to be embarrassing enough to the Times hierarchy that they had their spokesman go on record insinuating to the Post that he was fired for cause. I wonder whether legal signed off on that. nypost.com/2025/11/12/u...

Gonna take this opportunity to lean into a hearty FUCK YOU to all the woman-haters who just didn’t “like” Hillary and bought into every excuse to villainize her. You’re the un-American traitors who enabled the Nazi’s to take over the country.
turns out the emails we should have been reading in 2016 were from the NYT

NYT editors put "Claudine Gay" in "top 5 featured on the New York Times homepage Dec 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 22, 25"

While they put Trump calling for Constitution's "termination" on page 15 and his chief of staff's "tyrant" warning on 12

Christopher Rufo openly bragged about the plans:
Chris Rufo "a total product of right-wing affirmative action and you literally would never have heard of him if he was a liberal"

Republicans are going to try to distance themselves from this, and the media is going to do their best to let them. It's gonna feel like Bush II remixes, everyone pretending they've never heard of this Trump guy and if they did they were always against him, everyone was. History repeats.
