The regime has now arrested, handcuffed/decked:

• Judge
• Member of Congress
• US Senator
• Mayoral Candidate/city official of NYC/

A Trump supporter just assassinated a Dem leader in MN.

And Sen. Dems are about to vote w/ Republicans to give Trump a gift on crypto - as early as maybe today.
Here's shortly video of his detention, full video coming.

I nodded at every sentence of this essay while an automated voice read it to me from my phone.
Much of what we see now is fake, and the reality we face is full of horrors. Jia Tolentino writes about how more and more of the world is slipping beyond comprehension.

Wow, this essay. I drove past that Confederate flag before filling my gas tank in Paducah last week, and I'm finding comfort in sharing the road with @jeanettemrozinski.bsky.social and her witness of resistant beauty.
In this week's Short Reads, Jeanette Mrozinski (@jeanettemrozinski.bsky.social) finds hope in a very unlikely place, and maybe we all can, too.

This is the reminder I needed after a family member’s screed about LPJ. Apparently her ownership reveals “Operation Signalgate” as a deep state plot because she’s been photographed with Ghislaine Maxwell and The Atlantic ran a story debunking child pedophile conspiracies.

@djpressman.bsky.social, Soha Hammam, and I draw on our research through the Crowd Counting Consortium to show that there is far more protest happening in the US than is commonly understood, and that the shift to economic noncooperation shows powerful potential for future collective action.
Resistance is alive and well in the United States
Protests of Trump may not look like the mass marches in 2017, but they're far more numerous and frequent — and also becoming more strategic.

Usually when I hear someone loudly explain something to their table mate at any local coffee shop, it's the doctrine of penal substitutionary atonement. Today, it's a plan for democratic action. #Missouri #resistance

Here we have a Texas government official telling a Baptist minister what they are supposed to believe
Interesting exchange from today's hearing to require the 10 Commandments in schools, during which an ordained minister noted Baptists' long support of church-state separations, prompting a Texas Senator to essentially tell her that protecting said separations isn't a real part of Christian faith.

In a week of upheaval, one executive action feels strikingly surreal to me: the rescission of Executive Order 11246. EO 11246 was signed by Lyndon Johnson in 1965 as part of the enforcement process that gave teeth to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. 1/12

1. IT WAS NEVER ABOUT "WOKE"

Trump just repealed an executive order that established basic non-discrimination requirements for federal contractors

It has been in place for 60 years

It survived Nixon, Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II

And now it is gone
Trump undercuts enforcement of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
For decades, the political right has purported to broadly support the goals of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s.
