And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

To all the volunteers and donors, THANK YOU!

Your 3,886 lbs of nonperishables and $542 donated at Saturday's "Do Better, Emmer" protest broke a record!

Stepping up to help your neighbors is what makes Minnesota and our communities so great.

It's a great time to donate to your local food shelf!

Despite the fact that we have billions of federal $$$ in a contingency account, Trump and the GOP-led Congress will cut off SNAP benefits on 10/31/25.

Many Minnesotans (children included) will need nutritional assistance. #Donate #CD6 #48B

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

For sharrows, it’s actually safer to NOT have them.

Thankful to be a part of the DFL team that passed Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs) into law last biennium.

ERPOs aka Red Flag Laws work. They prevent suicides, homicides and mass shootings. ERPOs save lives.
