psychology undergraduate with too many skills and interests

all yaps are my own

Saw somebody do an intro thread so I'll give this a shot too. I'll keep some details anonymous because of being queer in a not-so-queer-friendly country.

As far as the Internet goes, I go by Kim (she/her). I have an undergrad in psychology, and I'll be mapping out some things that I've done (1/7)
so all of you indie developers and designers, what's your approach to game playtesting? how often do you do it? when do you do it? when do you find it useless? #gamedesign #gamedev

Hello bluesky sorry I have been away i have been busy working through 2 masterclasses and a project training.

Apparently I will do anything except ask people for paid work because I'm stuck in a "do I really know enough? Have I done enough?" loop.

Been thinking about an idea for a game. The mechanics involve you typing out the words that you communicate to others, but you have Wernickle's Aphasia. Everything is narrative driven.

Do we have a community working in AI and foundation model safety here in Bluesky?

"What do they need UX for, when users can no longer refuse?"

Brilliant read.
Users hate AI. So tech made it mandatory. Even if you don't use it, it pollutes what you read and how systems make decisions. The computer's hallucinated word is final.

And it needs all of your data to do it.

In the age of no consent, UX exists to normalized complete acquiescence to surveillance:
The AI age is the "age of no consent"
"Inevitability" means design decisions are no longer informed by user needs; now they are unilaterally imposed. The users are the ones being designed.

Tiny rant here. I should not have to go on an exploring mission across 3 of your previously published papers to find out the rate of sampling for the neural recordings in your open science dataset.

That's what metadata is for.

This paper is making the rounds: arxiv.org/abs/2506.21734

A tiny (27M) brain-inspired model trained just on 1000 samples outperforming o3-mini-high on reasoning tasks.

Some 3 am thoughts:

For a lot of tasks, the number of features to be represented far exceed the possible activity patterns in a neural population.

That's why neural population activity sometimes has subspaces that account for the majority of "task-specific" variance in the dynamics.

We need more computational models, more intensive within subject designs, and more naturalistic tasks to make the modest but important successes of computational cognitive science capable of explaining critical phenomena in clinical, dev and soc psych. This requires new methods training across psych

Nobody's going to play your game if it never exists! The pursuit of perfection is a trap.

okay so when youre not working with a tutorial, is this supposed to take you 4 hours on Unity? Am I doing something wrong?

Aaaand that's #dailyui 002 as well.
I decided to do the cliche minimalism and realized in the process that negotiating elements around space really does give you an incredibly flexible framework. Depending on what you need to evoke, there's so MUCH you can do with this.....

Hello #hci #ai & #cogsci communities! Im currently throwing a very wide net and doing a smol literature dig into the way LLMs are audited, with a specific focus on human-AI teaming in auditing itself, and more participatory approaches as well. Im wondering if ppl here read smth interesting about it

lil yap thread on theoretical differences in neural systems (biological and artificial) translating to cognitive differences, in a purposefully layman tone
So to clarify from a cogsci pov, what you're counting as a "world model" here is grouping a lot of different things that aren't usually grouped. For the examples:
