Wow, I really need to read this book and recommend to my followers! It seems to have predicted the future and was written in 93’.

A man named “Donner” and runs on making this country “great again”. Uncanny and slightly terrifying.

It’s set in 2024 so let’s start reading!

📖 📕 📚 🔨 ⚖️
The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

Religion was once the opiate of the masses, but in America, culture wars now serve that role.

Yet when these conflicts threaten billionaire profits, including those of the president-elect, real power asserts itself.

H1-Bs, tariffs, TikTok bans; billionaires’ interests always prevail in the end.

They are a selfish bunch who have shown time and again that what interests them most is themselves.

Yeah I was all happy when they put Alan Turing on the 50 pound note in 2021 but in a hundred years the textbooks are going to be like yeah that's the asshole who invented COMPUTERS.

In the run-up to Christmas, I’ll share some of my favourite tried-and-tested recipes.

Our favourite cocktail during our fly drive of Western Canada was the Sleeping Buffalo:
1 oz Bourbon
1 oz Dubonnet (Waitrose)
0.5 oz Amaretto
0.5 oz Courvoisier
orange peel
ice

🚨DR UK's Statement on Passing of Assisted Dying Bill

We stand firmly against a law that risks pressuring Disabled people into decisions driven by lack of options rather than genuine choice. This bill could reinforce the narrative that Disabled people’s lives are less valuable.

I'm going to do some coverage on here of the assisted dying debate. If you're not interested please mute this thread now. It'll probably go on a while.

Assisted dying has been passed through parliament today. Putting millions of working class and vulnerable people in danger who will be underrepresented and advocated for.

A dark day for a government who can’t even manage current healthcare never mind deciding to kill someone. #AssistedDying

When Labour talks about sanctioning young people who don’t #work, they’re targeting those more likely to be:

•Disabled
•Racialised
•From poor areas
•Care leavers
•Young parents
•LGBTQ+
•Facing mental health challenges

Not all young people—these young people.
