I’m sorry $300 for an off brand quartz watch is flat out insanity. 30atm isn’t even that crazy.

Sure enough, Google automatically opted me in to its AI-training regime. So I had dig into its settings and opt out. I don’t use Gmail much any more, or the rest of the world’s predominant surveillance capitalism ecosystem for that matter.
Google has started automatically opting you in to let it read your stuff to train AI. You need to turn this off in SEVERAL places in your settings (not just for Gmail), if you want to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

The final trope is always enshitification.
TV Tropes is blocking access to the site not only if you have ad blockers on but location tracking off unless you want to subscribe to their $5 a month/$25 a year subscription plan. Even people who have turned their ad blockers off are reporting the site isn’t working. This all seems like a bad idea

If someone asks you "are you in line?" what they actually mean is "would you please do better at standing in line?"

(Having endured an errand afternoon yesterday, let me tell you, it hit.) 😂

Your regular reminder that most people should leave their phone at home when you protest. Not in the car, not turn it off when you arrive. At home on the charger so it's pinging the tower as if you hadn't left the house.

They'll track you based on your phone being near phones of other protesters.

ICE has bought access to an “all-in-one” surveillance tool that gives it updated location data from hundreds of millions of phones, putting us all at risk of being tracked.

The government can’t be allowed to surveil us simply for having a cell phone.
ICE to Buy Tool that Tracks Locations of Hundreds of Millions of Phones Every Day
Documents show that ICE has gone back on its decision to not use location data remotely harvested from peoples' phones. The database is updated every day with billions of pieces of location data.

I think that that James Comey could probably just like check into a hotel room at the Holiday Inn in Albuquerque or something using somebody else's credit card and I'd be willing to bet today's FBI is a level of competent that would result in him being unfindable and unarrestable.
“The source told CBS News that [Kash Patel and Dan Bongino] asked for "large, beefy" agents to conduct an arrest of Comey "in full kit," including Kevlar vests and exterior wear emblazoned with the FBI logo.” The leadership of the FBI is now in the hands of infantile psychopaths.
The FBI is weighing an arrest and perp walk for Comey — and suspended an agent for refusing to help, sources say
The FBI is considering carrying out a "showy" arrest and perp walk of the agency's now-indicted ex-Director James Comey, sources tell CBS News.
