„BURN IT WITH FIRE“ might sound dramatic, but if you listen to the stories teachers (worldwide) have to tell about how kids take everything ChatGPT says at face value without questioning any of its answers, it actually seems like a pretty reasonable demand.
This absolutely bonkers discussion between a writer and ChatGPT plays out like one of the greatest sci-fi stories I've ever read. The point, once again, is that ChatGPT is worse than useless for even the most basic things it pretends to be able to do. BURN IT WITH FIRE.
ChatGPT is the Prince of Lies.

Why... why do people not think of ways to encourage interaction with other humans to talk about the great books? Why this obsession with talking to a computer pretending (with very limited success) to be an imaginary human? I just... what? What? *screams*

This is the kind of engagement bait I want to see
This is a very common sentiment, and I understand where it comes from. But it simply does not survive philosophical scrutiny. We implicitly or explicitly always put at least some numerical bounds on the value on human life. We don't like to think about it that way, but we do.
Once we start putting a numerical value on a human life, we are lost. And evil has won.

Let me be clear: every human life is of an incalculable worth. Each of you is precious beyond words, beyond thought, beyond reckoning. When men say otherwise, the humanity they deny is their own.

When I think about what‘s currently happening, I am sadly reminded of the fact, that Machiavelli wrote down some thoughts about how to gain control over a failed state, and and then he wrote a very thick book on how to defend a republic against such attacks.

But only one of his writings is famous…

Mythical symbolic forms of this sort can apparently be rather unproblematic to include in our science-influenced society. A fascinating attempt to reconcile two world views.

It’s so fascinating that we can have the feeling that there’s something wrong with an argument - especially in philosophy - without being able to say exactly why and (for me at least) it can takes days, weeks, months, to formulate the problem in a satisfactory way.
