Jew in Amsterdam here. Please use Anne Frank as a comparison point to explain how state persecution of scapegoats impacts children, that is the point of her example, thanks

Bullshit
Leavitt lies: "Let's be clear about the circumstances which led to that moment on Saturday. This tragedy occurred as a result of a deliberate and hostile resistance by Democrat leaders in Minnesota."

Filming federal agents in public is not a crime, nobody should be harassed or restrained for doing so, nobody should have their phone confiscated for it, and nobody should get the death penalty for it. This is supposed to be a free Republic, not an authoritarian police state.

I wish Democrats would start just speaking the truth:

“ICE is killing American citizens in public for exercising their freedom of speech because Donald Trump wants to be a king.

This isn’t about immigration—Trump wants to make it illegal to oppose him, and to stay in power until he dies.”

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Hi everyone -- there is a general strike in Minnesota tomorrow to protest what the Trump administration and DHS are doing to our community. In solidarity with the action, I am going to donate my revenue from tmrw's newsletter to People over Papers, the Midway-Hamline Diaper Bank, & Every Meal. (1/2)

Every day, but especially on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we're reminded of the systemic racism that plagues every part of the U.S. criminal legal system – from arrest to sentencing and even reentry.

Here's what the data shows 🧵

AOC: “I understand that VP Vance believes shooting a young mother of three in the face three times is an acceptable America that he wants to live in, & I do not — That is a fundamental difference between VP Vance & I — I do not believe the American people should be assassinated in the street”

A guy, in a mask, with a gun, along side his friends who are also in masks and armed to the teeth, walking up to you at a gas station and demanding to see your papers while asking you where you were born is not living in a free country.
In this video, a Border Patrol officer says he lives in Minneapolis. He keeps trying to explain himself in the face of absolute hatred. The other two officers are just as unnerved.

A decade ago, when Trump one the first time, I and other Black writers tried to make us see that racism — both explicit and deeply seeded — was at the root of Trump’s rise. We were dismissed even as late as last year as people attributed economic anxieties to Trump’s wins.
DO YOU BELIEVE US NOW?

Just checking in again to remind everyone that January 6 is the day 77 million people watched a violent attempted coup and said, “Yes. That. That’s what I’m voting for.” And look at us now.

Here are some choice quotes from Jack Smith’s testimony about the conspiracy to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

“..the evidence made clear that President Trump was by a large measure the most culpable and most responsible person in this conspiracy.”

I look forward to the day when all these name changes are undone
1. The exterior signage at the Kennedy Center is being changed, with President Trump’s name being added above President Kennedy’s name.

Informal name changes can be made, but how is this not a violation of federal law?

“I have to pick my own because the price of cherries is up 29%”
WELKER: Coffee prices are up 19%, beef is up almost 15%, and bacon up almost 6% just to name a few. So when are all grocery prices going to come down as President Trump promised?

BESSENT: Kristen, it's unfortunate. As much as I like you, you like to cherrypick.
