If Trump weren't the "world's greatest real estate developer", one could let this slide. But in Chicago, it was never called the "Miracle Mile", and it was never, or ever called, a"Shopping Center".

53 days – that is the record for the longest time the House has gone without meeting in regular session in the 21st Century, set by the House of the 113th Congress when it adjourned under Art I, Sec 5, cl 4 from Sep 20-Nov 10, 2014.*
The current House will break that record on Wed. 🥳

We know when resolutions, concurrent resolutions, motions & amendments are approved, they're "agreed to" or "adopted"; they're not "passed". Bills & joint resolutions are "passed".
Now if anyone is thinking, "Okay, but how are unanimous consent agreements approved?"
Well, not like this ⬇️. 🤦🏻♂️

HOT TAKE: If this ends with the Senate passing a CR that is NOT the House-passed CR, Dems should claim *victory*: "We have a lot more to do, but we WON this round. They blinked. Speaker Johnson sent us a terrible bill, said we had to take it, and then he and his House Republicans did what?

3 GOOD: some real approps working right for the first time in EONS, built based on need & politics, not from toplines. SHALL language on backpay 4 feds. Good anti-RIF language we’d want to see continued
2 BAD: Nothing forces Trump to actually FOLLOW the approps. A vote we could have forced already

Text of the CR here. Negative implications galore.

C) Now, even if you pretend Walmart's 2025 package is not smaller (and a couple items ~downgraded), 2025's does NOT cost 25% less than 2024's. Rather – and again, only if you pretend 2025's is the same as 2024's – 2025's is 20% less.*
* – $40 is 20% < $50 (even though $50 is 25% > $40) 😀👍
