If Trump weren't the "world's greatest real estate developer", one could let this slide. But in Chicago, it was never called the "Miracle Mile", and it was never, or ever called, a"Shopping Center".

We know this can be done, but I did not know it had been done during a joint session during a challenge of a state's electoral votes. 🤯

A) Yes, as it happens, the first day of the formal recess the House took in 2014 is the same day as the day after the current House last met in regular (non-pro forma) session.
B) 2014 was an election year and that recess bracketed Election Day.
C) That was a recess; Mike Johnson is vamping.

Yep. And so, despite Republicans back in January committing themselves to making passage of regular funding bills a priority, these 9 (of 12) "regular order" funding bills are still on the House Calendar, moldering, left to die.

A couple notable bits, re his opinion for the Court in NLRB v Noel Canning, about Justice Breyer's garbling of how UCs work. First, he'd worked in the Senate, as chief counsel on the Judiciary Cmte, so he'd spent chunks of time on the floor. Second, later in that same graff he got it right –

We know when resolutions, concurrent resolutions, motions & amendments are approved, they're "agreed to" or "adopted"; they're not "passed". Bills & joint resolutions are "passed".
Now if anyone is thinking, "Okay, but how are unanimous consent agreements approved?"
Well, not like this ⬇️. 🤦🏻♂️

After Sen Mullin tweeted some photos on Sat, I asked my local AI machine if it could make out the text on the Truth Social post printouts seen lying about… and, if so, compare them to what Trump's already posted to determine (A) if these have been posted, or (B) if they're drafts.

NY POST: Things took a bad turn recently between actor Jeremy Renner and Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou after the pair had made two films together, as well as dating for some months.
Hate to see that happen. I wonder how they met, one of those "meet cute" stories? 🤔

More Donald Trump SOP: A bunch of people do a lot of work to get something done, and then at the end if Trump is so generous to not get in the f*****g way to block it, he says he made it all possible.

I sometimes check Walmart prices on-line as a mini-tracker for inflation. But their fresh meat prices are a huge outlier, way more expensive than supermarket chains. I figure people are convinced Walmart = Low, so they assume for meat, too. Eg, at Walmart, this brand is 84 cents/lb, vs ↘️ 😳

Still, while I don't know about the rest of you, I sure sleep better knowing that each of those 9 appropriations bills now left moldering on the Calendar includes "a spending reduction account to help address the bloated Federal budget".

And so the point here is that that's not done by a motion to vacate, either?
I noted the phrasing, "that the office... be vacated", vs "the office... is hereby declared to be vacant." Though when the entry says, "the 13th and 16th instant," phrasing will be what it be.

On what Trump's saying about Walmart's Thanksgiving dinner deal this year:
A) Yes, 2025's IS smaller.
B) If you take the 2025 package, add back the food it's missing from 2024, and take out the items 2024 didn't have, Walmart's 🦃 dinner package in 2025 costs 2.6% MORE than it did in 2024. 🤔
