Five months ago, I was bitching on this website about Trump's oncoming administration. An Elon Musk bot followed me, followed quickly by a sock puppet. After a few words, he said, "Cry Harder." I was so mad, I almost threw my phone. Instead I answered back, "I don't cry, I get busy." And I did.

Gonna put my constitutional theorist hat on and say that the reason people from the United States are called Americans is that we're a federal union, the United States of America, and that membership in that federal polity has come to predominate over the individual states
