A lot has been happening in the digital humanities and the university. My colleagues @kallewesterling.bsky.social, Jeanelle Horcasitas, and I are interested in having a broader discussion and debate on DH outside of the ivory tower

I lost my grandpa on Jan 2. He was 97! He gave me my first real film camera and sparked my love of photography and my way of seeing the world, so sharing a photo in his memory seems fitting. <3

Best compliment ✨🌱🍄‍🟫
Clearly fighting jetlag & a toddler that sings past midnight while trying to do some deep work, so of course, the mind fights back by wandering to other fun papers. Anyway, this chapter on public engagement & an ecological & equitable model of knowledge production is so beautifully written! #scicomm

Tomorrow I'm joining #MLA26. I wrote up what I'll share during virtual #s67 - "Writing in the Margins: The Freedom of Scholarly Work in Nondisciplinary Spaces."

Post is titled "Many Ways; Many Gifts." I talk about how my writing practice has changed as a new parent.

To all the young people in New York and across our country who count on gender-affirming care:

I won't let this administration come for you, your doctors, or your lifesaving health care.

Your health care is still legal and protected.

I'll always fight for you.

More than THIRTY closures in the last two years. 😭
The Colleges That Couldn’t Survive 2025

At least 15 nonprofit institutions announced closures this year due to enrollment and financial challenges, down from 16 last year. There were also fewer mergers announced. https://bit.ly/4rZqCT7

Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that bans gender-affirming medical care for any transgender person under 18, and threatens any medical professional providing this care to youth with 10 years in prison.

Tell Congress to protect trans youth and vote NO.

A decades-long municipal scandal that deserves far more attention than it gets: construction and capital projects in New York City schools are inconceivably expensive, never completed on time, and of shoddy, inferior quality. Another form of wealth extraction from the city to parts unknown.

I'm quoted in this @chalkbeat.org piece about the massive problems w/ NYC's School Construction Authority. The agency operates w/ very little oversight, leaving schools in poor condition & costing taxpayers millions in overruns. Students & communities deserve better www.chalkbeat.org/newyork/2025...

I am SO PSYCHED to see this. Would absolutely love to have Lander as my rep.
The left wing of the Democratic party quickly fell in line behind Brad Lander in an attempt to unify against incumbent Dan Goldman, with Lander’s announcement quickly followed by the endorsement of the Working Families Party.

Left Clears Lane for Brad Lander’s Challenge to Rep. Dan Goldman
In a video announcement, Lander accused the NY-10 incumbent of “doing AIPAC’s bidding” as he quickly cleared the field with the support of mayor-elect Zorhan Mamdani.
