Lotta good back and forth in the various strains of this thread about Jay Jacobs, but I really just want to focus on Brian's last line here. Nassau County Dems - Suozzi, Gillen, Jacobs - all spent more time melting down over Mamdani than boosting their own candidates. It's a huge failure.

I think democrats should push for a thorough review of all Elon Musk govt contracts as part of their 2026-8 portfolio. Why are taxpayers financing the work of a racist near-trillionaire? Leaving that unexamined was one of the biggest failures of the last Dem majority.

Called my Congresswoman Laura Gillen’s office this morning to ask her to not say anything more about Zohran Mamdani unless it’s positive. She and Tom Suozzi behaved disgracefully during this campaign. I hope we can primary both of them with candidates that don’t go on fox news to bash fellow Dems

But, the people who DO support the socialist aren't in Long Island.

I don't think people elsewhere understand what a mess the Democrats are in New York. They are held together with chewing gum. That they have any hold at all is thanks purely to New York City. Not the party in New York City but the city. That's all. As a political organization they are a disgrace.

The chair of the NY Dems refused to endorse a massively popular Dem who won the mayoral primary. As a New Yorker, you can't tell me my decades of frustrations with them aren't justified. I'm just glad the rest of the country is finally seeing it too.
